Capturing Woodsy

While our mayor is busy shopping for street furniture to make our city swellegant and in sync with the nature of its good citizens, Lise (pictured above) is working hard at trying to earn an honest living. Lise is a talented pixie-like young woman who for $5 will draw almost anything you request.

It is her goal to complete her high school diploma, and she is aspiring to apprentice in a tattoo parlor.

I liked Lise immediately – she was amiable and talented.

I asked if she could draw me. "Of course," she responded with unblinking confidence.

I am delighted with the way she captured my astral presence.

Is that how you walk around downtown... wearing only socks and shaking a stick??

Skylark, Of course not! Look again, I also wear borrowed opera gloves!

The likeness is striking!

I've seen her many times outside Hartman's, and have been tempted to commission a sketch, but I've been too shy to ask. Do you think I should?

And the best of all is: she's willing to work, even at streets, for a living. Looks like she has not only talent but values... and that's great!

Cheers...

Zoom, if you want to see a sweet young woman's eyes light up with happiness, then, YES, ask her to draw a picture for you.

Lise needs about half an hour to do the drawing, so plan to do errands or go for a coffee while she draws a picture for you.

She often sits at the corner of Bank and McLaren, right? I chatted with her a few times.

I Zhu, that's right.
